RE: the SCOTUS decision, I got a message from a local news station, and I stared at the word "CAN" (rather than cannot) for several seconds before it sank in. Then I saw "7-2."

My ultra right wing neighbor is probably having beer on his cereal.

My take on the whole "re-open school" thing is that they are trying to drive a wedge between us...

using the virus.

First he's claiming the virus is 99% safe, then he says he wants kids back in school by the fall.

Some parents are going to lean on the 99% safe thing, and the fact that they want their kids back in school, so (just like he did with the REOPEN THE COUNTRY), he's going to use that to pressure governors to act on opening schools.

See how governors are scrambling to get the virus back under control since reopening? The same thing will happen when the schools reopen. In fact, that will be the 2nd wave and we haven't even gotten through the first wave yet.

It is going to get very bad if we reopen schools in our current state...and it's all about his election.

Sometimes I wonder if Trump WANTS the virus to continue.

It's seems so strange what he is doing in the face of an election. Maybe they haven't made enough on reselling PPE yet.

A long time friend (I hadn't seen in years, but reconnected with on FaceBook some years ago) turned out to be a Republican. I guess all things considered, I wasn't surprised.

As for me, I've been posting Democratic left posts from time to time for a while, but it's increased greatly in the past two years—especially in the past few months.

I saw post of his earlier in the year, saying he wished "people would quit posting political things that just aren't true."
He stopped replying to my posts around that time (probably quit following me).

Last week, I noticed he "liked" an post anti-Trump I had added to my page. I was shocked. I thought he made a mistake, or misunderstood it.

Then he did it again today.

But just now, he forwarded me a meme (on my wall) making fun of Trump.

It's sad that it comes down to someone dying to get some to believe the virus is real—and to believe scientists, health officials, doctors, leaders that you should be wearing a mask.

I saw a lady in Texas on a YouTube video acting smug for about 20 minutes, talking about how "I'm not wearing a mask!" And she had it 100% wrong: she said if you want to protect yourself, fine, wear a mask. She doesn't understand it's done to protect OTHERS. Well, her ignorance and selfishness is now etched on the internet for her grandchildren to see.

After we oust Trump from our Whitehouse, and throw him in prison garb...

Baseball's Back: Players Reporting to Camps After Reaching Deal With Owners

Major League Baseball players on Tuesday said they were reporting to training camp after reaching a deal to start the coronavirus-delayed 2020 season.

MLB had asked the union to respond by 5 p.m. EDT Tuesday as to whether players can report to training by July 1 and whether the players' association will agree on the operating manual of health and safety protocols. The schedule would start July 24 and would be the shortest since the National League's third season.

Spring training was suspended on March 12, two weeks ahead of scheduled openers, and the sides reverted to the familiar financial infighting that fractured the sport in the past. An initial deal March 26 called for players to receive prorated salaries and gave MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred power to set the schedule, but that agreement did not require MLB to play in ballparks without fans.
