Not to be too pedantic about something meant in irony, when I breath out, cough or sneeze with a mask on my vapors do not exit my presence as rapidly or as violently. It is as simple as that. With six feet and a mask, there is a significant reduction of moisture droplets circulating between us. Without distance, masks are hugely less effective.

My mask is more effective at protecting you from me than it is at protecting me from you. A mask is a sign of compassion. In these times, not wearing a mask is a sign of shallow selfishness.
