Sexual abuse pervades our life choices.......

Let's pause to consider that what the RC church has done has been to thoughtlessly and carelessly take actions to protect its investment in the training of thousands - hundreds of thousands of priests through the centuries.

It takes 6 to 10 years to educate and train a young man to be ordained a priest. And that training doesn't usually include basic sexuality development in young boys becoming young men.

Letting the young candidates figure out for themselves the mysteries of their developing sexuality and its impact on their lives and the lives of the members of the catholic communities entrusted to them after ordination doesn't seem to have worked.

Another group, the military, has the same problems as any other group of people enduring and negotiating sexual contacts by its members as they toil through their enlistments or their military agreements to serve in the armed forces of their nation.

The military has had a changing if not questionable process to regulate the treatment and disposal of homosexuals who have lied about their sexual orients at enlistment to sexual onslaughts in their units. But that's another thread.

It's not just this group. or that. It's about defining what must be done to protect young people from the onslaughts of predators anywhere and defining strict processes including timely prosecutions and appropriate and equitable punishments for offenders who cannot offer basic human respect and honor for each other and for the more vulnerable members of society.

If the election was clean.....

....neither side should fear a recount.

In fact, recounts should be automatic in a case such as this where one side won the popular vote so decidedly and the other just squeaked by in the electoral college fiasco.

New Budget Deal Is Cutting Your Social Security Benefits And It's A Good Thing

Approved by the House of Representatives on October 28th, 2015, the “Bipartisan Budget Act of 2015,” contains language that will reduce potential Social Security benefits for millions of Americans. In fact, it will effectuate the single largest change to Social Security since the Citizens Freedom to Work Act of 2000, which first enabled most of the file and suspend strategies being removed by the current budget agreement. While many are writing about the devastating impact of reduced benefits, these changes will likely be beneficial to the Social Security system and to the American people. Nonetheless, reduced benefits are still reduced benefits and will have a negative impact on many people relying upon these Social Security payments.

The budget bill, as proposed by the House of Representatives, will effectively eliminate most of the “file-and-suspend” claiming strategies that exist today. File and suspend is a strategy used by married couples to simultaneously generate a paycheck from Social Security while deferring at least one of the couple’s retirement benefits into the future. Such practice allows married couples to take advantage of the deferral credits that increase Social Security retirement benefits by 8 percent per year after full retirement age and still get a Social Security benefit check each month. Not a lot of time should be spent trying to understand these strategies as they will soon no longer be available.

Bad news........

A cut is a cut is a cut.......

Trying to sweeten it by saying there was no cut in Social Security benefits themselves doesn't help at all.

Dems and sensible Repubs - if there are any - better get together and kill this or fix it.

And by the way - ya know what will fix Social Security and Medicare?

NEW JOBS _ JOBS _ JOBS! Millions of them!

Stuck? Yes, stuck with the great ones also.......

However, justices should serve for a limited time. 20 years?

Term limits for elected officials is an insidious, self-inflicted surrender of the power of the right to vote.

Repeal the Twenty Second Amendment, which was passed by a Republican congress and ratified quickly by Republican legislatures.

It was a vengeful assault on the memory of Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

What do they think?

That hungry people will be too weak to vote?

Fools!

Dunno much about "subordinate".......

But what follows is in the Constitution and it "ordinates" the establishment of the United States and the framework - repeat: FRAMEWORK of government required to establish how and why the United States were ordained into a nation:

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

What then follows, I repeat, is only a FRAMEWORK or structure of government, guided by principles and practices of those days and the good sense and inspirations when the Constitution was written by the blessed Founders.

You won't find the precise words and phrases that cover every detail of the government operations to date.

That's NOT what Constitutions do!

Can we all agree on this........?

The people made the Constitution, and the people can unmake it.
It is the creature of their will, and lives only by their will.

Chief Justice John Marshall, 1821

If the leaders we elect or appoint fail to execute their oath to defend and protect us and our Constitution then we need to fix the Constitution to make it work in spite of the negligence of the people sworn to protect and defend it.
