Trump is not smart enough

to get the subtlety of the historic dog whistles. The RNC has nominated a Howard Beale and who actually believes his own pomp and BS. Ryan has been waiting on the results from his state primary, which he won tonight, to take any action. But Ryan knows Trump is blowing their cover and must be dealt with and soon.

As An Older Gen Xer

in my middle 40s I see it very differently. To me what's different is that Baby Boomers and their needs are no longer running the dialogue, syntax, and entire platform of the Democratic Party. My generation watched as your needs for economic security drowned out ours as NAFTA slowly eroded our shot at stable jobs, a good standard of living, and retirement. Then came the total Crash of 2008 and the situation became impossible to ignore. The more populous Millennials saw what little prospects were available for educated people starting their careers and formed the Occupy movement. The best thing to come out of this election cycle was that people are finally talking about the United State's responsibilities to its citizens that still have student debt and are still working and trying to build their careers. After 30 plus years of running the party, guess you seniors will finally have to learn to share the stage.

Community vs Narcissism

Hillary's pursuit of bonafides over the years has put her in the direct line of fire. She is complicit in some of the worst economic and social malfeasance in the last two decades. She has made lucrative backroom deals with international players in exchange for personal donations to her campaign. You should ignore all of that because Hillary can LEAD. But where she leads should be entirely up to her. Just trust her. It's her turn and she's tired of waiting.

Ever notice how many time Hillary says "I" in her press statements? You should be SO impressed with her accomplishments, but she has no interest in you except what you can do for her, classic narcissism. Many younger people see the presumptuous "me first" generation as a source of the strain on equal opportunities for generations after. Boomers can't understand. Never mind that the economy is in the tank and student debt is soaring. They got theirs. Even though they claim to have once cared about peace and justice now that they are in charge, you getting yours is not their concern. They'll just lecture you about working harder, even though many have never submitted a resume in a specific format and had to consider how it would look online.

The talk shows get told who to tell you to love, but people under 25 generally don't watch TV. If they knew who either Gloria Steinem or Madeline Albright were from 30 to 40 years ago, as of this week they sure don't care. Who actually thought their terrible sound bytes were still relevant? Bet Gloria Steinem or Madeline Albright did. Bet the talk shows did. Who were they supposed to convince? Social media and social activism override all the corporate driven white noise.

The thing that these old fogies don't seem to realize is access to communication turns power from a focused funnel to a diffused web. And by keeping everyone poor and disenfrancised, the generations after them became less dependent on their "leaders" and more reliant on community. So instead of the cult of personality "me" generation, it is now the "we" generation. The leaderless Occupy and Black Lives Matter movement sprung up as community revulsion to the hubris of supposed leaders that did not include us in their idea of the United States of America until it came time to pay their salaries or fight their wars.

This is a phenomena that Bernie's 30 years of actual community service was made for. He has remained consistent in his view even when the camera wasn't looking. He talks about America and he means everybody. He looks around rather than expecting you to look up. He is the kind of leader we need.

I don't care if he is not a woman. I do care that he is not another narcissist. Whether he is wearing pants or a girdle is completely up to him.

PS.

Me? I'm old enough to remember Margaret Thatcher. I hear she was a woman too. How'd that work out?

Community vs Narcissism

She is Establishment. Unfortunately, Ole Hill's been sleeping with the enemy, and I don't mean Bill.

Her pursuit of bonafides over the years has put her in the direct line of fire. She is on tape lecturing against gay marriage and for the Iraq War, both of which her current opposition was on the other, and correct, side of history.

Many younger people, female and male, that see the presumptuous "me first" generation, the last ones to actually collect a middle class retirement, as the source of the problem. Ever notice how many time Hillary says "I" in her press statements? You should be SO impressed, but she has no interest in you except what you can do for her, classic narcissism.

Social media and social activism override the white noise emitted from her spin doctors. Young people don't watch TV, and if they knew who either Gloria Steinem or Madeline Albright were from 30 to 40 years ago, as of this week they sure don't care. Just more Baby Boomers that haven't had to look for a job lately.

The thing that these old fogies don't seem to realize is that by keeping everyone poor, the younger generations became less dependent on their "leaders" and more reliant on community. So instead of the cult of personality "me" generation, it is now the "we" generation. This is a phenomena that Bernie's 30 years of actual community service was made for.
