(9,908 posts)that automatically disqualifies him from even RUNNING for President?
Sorry, but the second this idiot nation elected (or allowed to be named POTUS) that ass ferret Trump, any ideas of "qualifications" went right out the window...there is no such thing any more as "qualified enough"... a half-eaten ham sandwich is more qualified than our current 'leader'.
Seems to me that the unwritten hesitation for many is the "gay issue". They are not seeing an immense intellect and gifted politician. They are seeing a "gay man" and can't get past it. Believe me, for people who that is a fundamental issue on the right, we are not getting their vote if the contest was between all the saints of all the churches and Satan himself, so I wouldn't worry about them...
Barrack Obama built a coalition that was able to transcend race and won the Presidency twice.
Hillary Clinton built a coalition that was larger than gender and won the vote by nearly 3 million.
I believe Pete Buttegieg can build a coalition that transcends sexual orientation as well...the sad thing is he will be another in a long line of Democratic Presidents whose first priority has to become undoing the dammage of their predecessor.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
