(146,317 posts)Why? Because they hold primaries, too, and send delegates to the convention. The other campaigns can't afford to campaign in all 50 states, so they pick and choose and skip the rest. Bloomberg doesn't have that limitation. He's paying for his own campaign, and has plenty of money to do that.
It's going to tell as more and more states hold their primaries. Voters are going to see Bloomberg ads everywhere. In many places, those are the only ads they'll see. They're going to see yard signs, too. My wife picked one up at the newly-opened Bloomberg campaign headquarters in St. Paul this weekend.
Guess what she said when she got home? "They didn't even want a contribution, and they had hundreds of yard signs there."
Go ask for a yard sign at some other candidate's local office. If they have any, you won't get one unless you donate. Foolish. I've had that happen to me many times. I've donated and gotten my sign. But Bloomberg isn't looking for donations. That's refreshing.
