61. Two things ...

I know if I had vacated DU and, later, received your tweet ... the first thing I would do (before re-tweeting) is re-visit the site to see if anything had changed. I would go to the AA Group and listen to the discussions among the Black folks present. I, then, would lurk the site to see what the non-PoCs were saying, in general. And lastly, I would look at the reception the call received.

Secondly, the low response/rec rate might be attributable to the fact that the Open Letter was posted to the AA Group (which most DUers avoid like the plague). Perhaps, if it were posted to the GD, the number of DUers that support the call will out-number the number that wish to detract/deflect. (Yes ... I am the eternal optimist ... willing to be pleasantly surprised).
