I signed off Super cuts forever as a young mother the day I had a major miscommunication with the young stylist. I told her that I didn't usually fuss with my hair but would french braid it for special occasions. She looked at it for a moment and then explained she would cut an inch off, in a way that would make the ends of my hair curl in better. I said, sure.

I don't know why I didn't jump up immediately, but at one point she took a good chunk of my hair at the nape of my neck and cut it up to an inch from my scalp. When it was over, she flipped the top layers over this stubby chunk of hair she left on the nape of my neck.

I remember saying, "Do you remember when I said I put my hair in a French braid! How can I do that now!"

From then on, if I find a hairdresser that listens well, I follow her from salon to salon until she moves out of the area, and pay whatever it takes.
