It hasn't been renewed by Netflix yet, so we dont know IF there will be a S2 yet, but are hopeful, as are the showrunners.

Its based on a book by a Chinese writer, Cixin Liu. It's actually a trilogy (Amazon has a translated edition), so the showrunners are hoping for at least 3, maybe 4, seasons to tell the story.

BUT... here's the deal... This is the most expensive first season Netflix has ever made, costing about $20 million per episode!

It just finally went to #1 series on Netflix's top ten list yesterday. If it does not stay at #1 long enough, Netflix may not see it as worth future investment. So, lets hope it does! Be sure to tell them you like it by clicking the thumbs-up icon. That helps.
