(38,187 posts)listen enough to understand before you make judgments and open your mouth, no matter how long it takes you to understand. I have never seen any AA organizations get upset if a white person is supportive and wants to participate. If you listen to their experiences and what they are telling you, you learn a lot more than if you take an antagonistic approach and refuse to listen at all, like what you seem to be doing here in this thread. You make yourself into the antagonist by copping that attitude. Instead, try listening and being less argumentative, for crying out loud. At least try not to twist what they are saying to make it seem you are being put upon, when really that is you not understanding what is being said. It's not too hard to figure out once you stop and think about it.
