(11,619 posts)Where is it. President Obama is the head of the executive branch of the U.S. government and is our highest elected public servant. As a representative democratic republic, we don't elect leaders, we elect representatives. Sure, they tell us they are our leaders, and many of us buy into the whole thing, but there is an important philosophical reason why we should never allow any elected representative to call himself or herself or leader.
From what I've seen, the rest of the world isn't crazy about our imperial attempts to lead it. Empires are notoriously poor when it comes to civli rights, so those of us that esteem civil rights should stop the whole leader of the free world thing.
He is the President who presides over the executive branch, one of three coequal branches of the U.S. government.
