I wonder if the religious minded are trying to work this into their Free Will doctrine. Only sperm that really wanted to make human beings make it to the egg unless the woman's egg resists - but from what I've read, it's an electrical event that may work out voluntarily. I'm sure that is not a valid biological argument, and we don't need to get so detailed.

Still it will be called the woman's fault, since Eve, everything is. Oh, what an irresponsible myth Adam began by saying in essence 'The woman, (devil) made me do it.' Same argument of every rapist, huh.

Simplistic, true, and I think that all arguments of the powerful or for the powerful are simply a desire for security. It's why people often gravitate to the right, no matter how repugnant the example is, because they see power there. I've read, and it may be all wrong, that the people of Germany felt weak or victimized and that Hitler as a 'strong man' would save them. Humans always flee to what they think will help them in the micro and macro of life.

Thus they support rapists, bullies and war mongers. Nothing says power like a gun or missile. No matter how abhorrent it is, they recognize strength and prefer it to the quiet voice of reason and peace, who they call weak and spineless. They claim that they want peace, but still despise those on the path.

Same thing with the masculine and feminine, one is a spear, the other water, yet which wins in the long run, as Lao Tzu says?

Some new agers claim that we determine if we want to be born and from whom - which tosses chance out the window - which I think your example is about. And they also say we choose when and how we will die - letting killers off the hook, in opposition to the other point of view.

The only way I would agree with that would be if a fetus is aborted, the soul represented would find another way to be born, which defeats the anti-choicers trying to rescue their pet.

On more cynical days, I think the entire universe is more like an experiment in learning itself as Carl Sagan said, a sort of game. This idea either ticks me off or it's liberating, per Bill Hicks:

The world is like a ride at an amusement park. And when you choose to go on it, you think that it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills, and it's very brightly coloured, and it's very loud and it's fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they begin to question - is this real, or is this just a ride?

And other people have remembered, and they come back to us. They say 'Hey! Don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because, this is just a ride.' And we...kill those people. Ha ha ha. 'Shut him up! We have a lot invested in this ride. SHUT HIM UP! Look at my furrows of worry. Look at my big bank account and family. This just has to be real.' It's just a ride. But we always kill those good guys who try and tell us that, you ever notice that?

And let the demons run amok. But it doesn't matter because: it's just a ride. And we can change it anytime we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings, and money. A choice, right now, between fear and love.

The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourselves off. The eyes of love, instead, see all of us as one. Here's what you can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money that we spend on weapons and defence each year, and instead spend it feeding, clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, for ever, in peace.

Or as Frank Zappa said, and my agreement with that is that life if meant to be enjoyed, no matter what it is:

The whole universe is a large joke. Everything in the universe are subdivisions of this joke, so why take anything too seriously.
