In reply to the discussion: Ted Lieu is on a roll this morning [View all]empedocles
(15,751 posts)7. If Mueller would announce trump is a subject of a criminal investigation this week
a lot of issues would be instantly impacted:
- criminal suspect trump would be demanding 'due process', while even more conspicuously denying due process to children in a brutal way.
- all this Roe v Wade SCOTUS furor would be changed by criminal suspect trump appointing his own judge. The 'conflict of interests' would be so visible to even evangelicals, and more importantly republicon Senate voters for trump nominee - with a very conspicuous criminal liability [from conspiracy statutes] for those Senators. [Maybe why trump in such a frenetic rush to get Kennedy to resign now, to appoint a trump nominee, and get a senate vote and get the trump voter on the court asap]
Just saying.
