bearsfootball516's JournalTrump's influence on the stock market is scary.
Tweet that talks with China have stalled? Dow drops 300 points immediately.
Trump says later that same day that trade talks are back in? Dow jumps 500 points.
How fragile is the market when one sentence uttered by someone can cause jumps of hundreds of points?
In latest Politico/Morning Consult poll, Trump's approval drops to 39 percent.

His approval has been falling sharply across the board in every poll. The Barr coverup isn't working.
Nadler begins conversation about timing for Barr appearance on the Hill
Source: NBC
WASHINGTON House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler has contacted the Department of Justice to set a date for Attorney General William Barr to testify on special counsel Robert Muellers Russia report, according to a senior aide involved in the process. Those discussions are taking place as some committee Democrats are saying Barr must fill in more blanks on the report within the next week, according to a lawmaker and senior leadership aide.
Committee Democrats are huddling this evening to discuss their next steps, according to two lawmakers on the committee.
On Sunday following Barrs release of his four-page summary of Muellers report, Nadler, in a joint statement, called on Barr to testify before his committee without delay, but did not offer a timeline.
Democrats are also calling for more excerpts from the Mueller report to be made public, in addition to the underlying documents Mueller obtained throughout the course of his two-year investigation.

What are your voting machines like?
I'm in Elkhart, Indiana and the county just got new voting machines. They brought a couple over to the local library yesterday night and let the public test them while they showed you how to use them.
Basically, you scan your drivers licence on one machine and it spits out a long, blank paper ballot with your unique bar code in the corner. If you don't have a licence, you can type in your last name to pull yourself up on the machine and do it that way.
Then, you take your ballot and put it in a voting machine and all of the ballot questions appear on the screen. It's touchscreen, so you touch your choice, it gets a green check next to it, and you click "next" and repeat until your ballot is full. Once you're done, you hit "print" and the machine spits your ballot back out with all the choices on it, so you can review it.
Finally, you take it over to the counting machine, where you insert your ballot, it says "Your vote has been counted!" on a screen, and the paper ballot drops into a lockbox which can be used for a manual recount if necessary.
As far as I know, there is no internet connection in any of the machines.
LOL, anyone see that brief interaction between Jordan and Cummings?
Jordan was whispering something to Cummings, and Cummings rolled his eyes and moved away from Jordan.

"How Amy Klobuchar Treats Her Staff" - New York Times
"Senator Amy Klobuchar was hungry, forkless and losing patience.
An aide, joining her on a trip to South Carolina in 2008, had procured a salad for his boss while hauling their bags through an airport terminal. But once onboard, he delivered the grim news: He had fumbled the plastic eating utensils before reaching the gate, and the crew did not have any forks on such a short flight.
What happened next was typical: Ms. Klobuchar berated her aide instantly for the slip-up. What happened after that was not: She pulled a comb from her bag and began eating the salad with it, according to four people familiar with the episode.
Then she handed the comb to her staff member with a directive: Clean it."

She doesn't have a very big following here (Only 2 percent, according to the Democratic Primaries thread statistics) but I thought this was an interesting enough article to share anyway.
