Palestinian official: Holocaust was necessary because 'Jews planned to take over Germany'

Fatah Official Yasser Aby Sido appeared on Egypt’s Sada Al-Balad TV on February 23, where he claimed that the Holocaust was a necessary action because the “Jews planned to control Germany," according to a translation by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).

Sido began the interview by commenting on international condemnations of a potential IDF military operation in Rafah, comparing it to the Holocaust.

--snip--

“The Jews and the Zionists were offered various places in the world - in Argentina, in Uganda, in the north of Sinai, in the south of Iraq- but they chose Palestine for other reasons we may mention later.

“They planned to take over Germany. They started to bring down Germany in terms of the economy and moral values. Hitler reacted by making the Jews go on the streets and lick the sidewalks. They know this very well. Kristallnacht [the night of broken glass] is well known in Jewish history, but so is the Night of the Long Knives, when Jews were ordered to put Stars of Davids on their breasts, and they were called ‘filthy Jews.’

“Let me say this loud and clear - the Jews distorted many verses in the Torah in order to make them more agreeable for them. I do not want to cite examples because some might consider me an antisemite, although it is us Arabs who are Semites - not them.”

One doesn't have to deny being antisemitic to be an antisemite. But it helps.

Hamas claims seven hostages killed in captivity in Gaza

Hamas named three of the hostages that had been allegedly killed as Chaim Gershon Peri, 79, Yoram Itak Metzger, 80, and Amiram Israel Cooper, 85. The terrorist group said a later announcement would contain the names of the remaining four.

All three men were kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7.

The information provided by Hamas is unconfirmed, and Hamas has previously shared false information on the well-being of hostages as part of its use of psychological warfare. Hamas has previously named a hostage as killed only to later release them, as was the case of Hannah Katzir.
Hamas's latest statement on the seven hostages

“We have previously announced that our contact has been cut off with our mujahideen who are guarding a number of enemy prisoners,” Hamas announced on their Telegram, “and that we believe that a number of the prisoners have been killed as a result of the Zionist bombing.

“After examination and scrutiny during recent weeks, we have confirmed the martyrdom of a number of our mujahideen and the killing of seven enemy prisoners in the Gaza Strip as a result of the Zionist bombing.”

They are killing the hostages. And in return, they demand cease fire.

Why are people OK with this?

'Zionists not welcome:' Jewish Santa Barbara students face harassment at Multicultural Center in US

On Tuesday, Jewish students were harassed at the University of California Santa Barbara's Multicultural Center (MCC) when signs and messages targeting a Jewish student government president and other Jewish students were placed at the MCC, its social media accounts, and a student dorm room earlier that day and on Monday.

According to Santa Barbara Hillel, its staff members and a group of Jewish students entered the MCC where there were signs on the door warning "Zionists not allowed." The students were confronted by a mob of their peers, who shouted at them, said SB Hillel.

Antisemitic Signs

"Zionists not welcome," was found on Tuesday scrawled on the door of a dorm room door with an arrow pointing to a Mezuzah, a religious talisman traditionally placed on every door frame in a Jewish home.

--snip--

Most of the signs were placed outside and inside the MCC on Monday, many of them targeting Associated Student President Tessa Veksler. Veksler shared examples of the signs on her Instagram account on Tuesday.

"Attention: Tessa Veksler supports genocide! You cannot hide!" Read one sign that had the fourth-year student's name flanked by what may have been red devil horns or red triangles used in terrorist propaganda to indicate militant targeting. "You can run but you can't hide Tessa Veksler."

If anyone still left wondering whether "Zionist" is an antisemitic code word for "Jew", wonder no more.

WATCH: Israel, US, Jordan among countries to airdrop aid to Gaza

As part of a joint-coordination effort, Israel, Jordan, Egypt, France, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States airdropped various supplies to Gazan residents.

The coordinated effort by these states saw supplies such as food and medical equipment airdropped to residents of southern Gaza and the Jordanian field hospital on Tuesday.
Many groups involved in coordination

As a result of such coordination, 160 packages of food and medical equipment were transferred to Gazan residents in the southern Gaza Strip and the Jordanian field hospital in Khan Yunis. The effort was planned and coordinated by the International Brigade of the Strategic Planning and Cooperation Directorate (J5), the Coordination and Liaison Administration to Gaza (CLA), the IDF COGAT Unit, the 98th Division, and the IAF.

The food packages were airdropped over the span of the last two days to around 17 locations along the southern coastline of the Gaza Strip using French, American, Egyptian, Emirati, and Jordanian airplanes.

Hamas 'could not have anticipated' Israel's response to October 7, official says

Hamas official Mousa Abu Marzouk claimed that Hamas did not anticipate Israel’s response to its October 7 massacre, according to a translation of an interview given to Egypt’s Alghad TV on Thursday by the Middle East Media Research Institute.

Asked by the interviewer, “When the [al-Qassam] brigades did what they did on October 7, did they have any expectations regarding the consequences of the attack?” Marzouk responded that nobody had anticipated Israel’s response.

“Nobody in the whole world expected them to be so barbaric,” Marzouk said. “And in Such violation of all international laws, treaties, and norms. Nobody expected the [Israeli response] to be so barbaric because, ultimately, the resistance fights soldiers. It is not fighting civilians with planes and tanks.”

The same Hamas official claimed in October that terror tunnels had been constructed to protect Hamas terrorists and that it was Israel's and the United Nation's responsibility to protect Palestinian civilian lives.

---

All those years of planning a spontaneous peaceful sight-seeing tour into Israel, politely inviting over 200 Israelis into Gaza as honored guests and digging tunnels under schools and hospitals for the exclusive use of benevolent Hamas jihadis, and the consequences are totally unanticipated.

Irony is dead.

Hillary Clinton: Youth 'woefully uninformed' on Israeli-Palestinian conflict

While speaking alongside Deborah Lipstadt, the US special envoy to monitor and combat antisemitism at the Munich Security Conference, Hillary Clinton told her audience that young people in America are “woefully uninformed” about antisemitism and the Holocaust, while denouncing its rise in the United States.

Clinton provided an example while she was speaking at a panel discussing conflict-related sexual violence. “Last week, we had three panels about Ukraine, and they were superb. They went off without a hitch. We learned a lot and were challenged,” she began. While speaking at the panel discussing conflict-related sexual violence, there were protests. The panel discussed sexual violence in Ukraine, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Israel.

“You just have to ask yourself how you could have an event focused on using rape as a tactic of war against women and girls, which is [used] in conflict across the world, and you include the most recent horrendous example out of Israel, and that brings out the protesters,” Clinton said.

She commented that there is an “invidious strain of antisemitism that has never gone away…that has been poking its head up for quite some time now.”

Navalny's death seals Russia's fate.

For centuries, Russia, especially its intelligentsia class, aspired to become an integral and influential part of European liberal culture. Navalny was the iconic figure who embodied this long-standing aspiration for his Russian contemporaries.

With the murder of Navalny, Putin sent an unmistakable message: Russia's co-existence with Europe, let alone affiliation with it through shared culture, is now officially dead. Putin killed it, quite literally. He did a 180 and is now facing east, towards the Asia-centered powers like China and Iran, as models for future developments for Russia. Essentially, he took Russia back to the times of the Mongol Golden Horde and Ivan the terrible, when Russia was the Mongol sphere of influence. Putin is no longer looking at Europe as a partner, but more as a target for conquest, in the same way as China is looking at Tibet and Taiwan, and Iran is looking at the Middle East.

This, more than his failure to subjugate Ukraine, speaks of Putin impotence as a leader of a former and rapidly declining superpower.

Putin may be grossly overestimating his abilities, and Russia is sure to pay the price for it.

Israel slams South Africa after ICJ rejected request to limit Israeli op in Rafah

The Foreign Ministry issues a statement blasting South Africa after the International Court of Justice rejected Pretoria’s request to order limitations on Israeli military operations in Rafah.

“South Africa’s failed attempt to undermine Israel’s right to defend itself and its citizens from the Hamas terrorist organization provides further proof that its claims are baseless and unsubstantiated,” the statement says, referring to South Africa’s accusation of “genocide” against Israel.

The ministry goes on to accuse South Africa of “serving as the legal arm of Hamas” and “working to advance the interests of this terrorist organization.”

“Israel is acting and will continue to act based on its right to protect its citizens and to release the hostages, while remaining committed to upholding international law, facilitating the transfer of humanitarian aid, and making every effort to prevent harm to uninvolved civilians,” the statement adds.

'Hamas outside Palestinian consensus,' Egyptian minister says

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry says there must be accountability for how Hamas acquired so much power, funding in Gaza to increase the rift with other 'peace loving Palestinian factions'

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said that Hamas was outside the Palestinian consensus, in a press conference at the Munich Security Conference on Saturday.

"There must be accountability for how Hamas acquired so much power in Gaza and why it was funded to increase the rift with other peace loving Palestinian factions," Shouky said in response to a question posed by former Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni.

Hamas uses civilians as human shields, Gazan journalist states

Gaza-based journalist Jehad Saftawi said on Tuesday that the Hamas terrorist organization indeed uses civilians as human shields in the war against Israel.

"Hamas terrorists used my family and hundreds of our neighbors as human shields. Hamas continues to hold the people of Gaza captive," Saftawi posted on X. "There should be no reconstruction of my family's home while a stockpile of weapons lies underneath.

"Goals rather than causes are what is behind Hamas's masterminds' wars. The case for removing Hamas is not to fuel escalation but to prevent it, which is why they should never be allowed to retake control of Gaza," he continued to say. Saftawi then admitted that it was the first time in more than 10 years that he's "been able to speak about this publicly," stating that it's "a cry for realignment for our Palestinian society as well as an appeal to the international community."

--snip--

Saftawi added that Gaza has been "dominated by terrorist chaos" since Hamas's takeover of the Strip, stating that the terrorist organization "has continued to normalize violence and militarization in every aspect of public and private life in Gaza."
