Bernie Loves Animals & They Love Him! Bernie Has 100% Pro-Animal Welfare Rating!

The Animals Love Bernie Because Bernie Loves Them

“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”
― Mahatma Gandhi

The same applies to individual human beings also, imo.

You can see Bernie's chart where he scored 100% on Animal Rights Legislation in Congress HERE

Thanks again, Bernie for standing up for those without a voice!

CBS Poll: Statistical Tie in Iowa: Clinton 46-Sanders 43, NH Sanders 54-Clinton 39!

New CBS Poll: NH Sanders 54 - Clinton - 39, Iowa Clinton 46 - Sanders - 43

This poll taken without Biden. Looks like Biden helped Clinton just a little as things seem to be back to about where they were before heavy Biden speculation.

So Iowa is neck and neck but New Hampshire looks like Sanders to lose. They also polled South Carolina, where Sanders has a lot of work to do to catch up with Clinton. I would have liked to see Nevada polled also since it is one of early states.

Great news for the Sanders Campaign!

Let's Start the Debates: Sanders, Clinton & O'Malley on The Private Prison Industry!

We have enough information on all of the candidates to hold debates without DWS and her undemocratic attempts to prevent the people from learning about ALL of the candidates.

And since we have the means to do so why wait for DWS to tell us what we can and cannot learn about the candidates:

So, where do these three Democratic Party Candidates stand on this most important issue?

Bernie Sanders:

It is morally repugnant and a national tragedy that we have privatized prisons all over America. In my view, corporations should not be allowed to make a profit by building more jails and keeping more Americans behind bars. We have got to end the private-for-profit prison racket in America!

Backing his words with action, Sanders has introduced legislation that would BAN States and municipalities from contracting with Private Corporations that are in the Private Prison Business.

Here he outlines WHY this atrocious practice MUST be abolished. It is well worth reading in its entirety:

Why We Must End For Profit Prisons

Prison industry money is corrupting the political process.

The prison industry is highly profitable. The two biggest prison corporations in the country made $3.3 billion in 2012 — profiting from government payments and prison laborers, who were forced to work for pennies on behalf of companies like Boeing and McDonald’s.

With so much money at stake, it’s not surprising that the for-profit prison industry is corrupting our political process. According to National Institute on Money in Politics just one such company, the GEO Group, has given more than $6 million to Republican, Democratic, and independent candidates over the past 13 years.

Moreover, as the Washington Post reports, the two largest for-profit prison corporations and their associates “have funneled more than $10 million to candidates since 1989 and have spent nearly $25 million on lobbying efforts.”

Here is what Bernie's legislation would do, I would hope he will get the backing of his colleagues, Democrats at least will unite around this legislation:

I have introduced legislation that will put an end to for-profit prisons. My legislation will bar federal, state, and local governments from contracting with private companies to manage prisons, jails, or detention facilities. Regulators will be directed to prevent companies from charging unreasonable fees for services like banking and telecommunications.

My legislation also takes steps to reduce our bloated inmate population. It reinstates the federal parole system, which was abolished in the 1980s, so that officials can individually assess each prisoner’s risk and chance for rehabilitation. It ends the immigrant detention quota, which requires officials to hold a minimum of 34,000 people captive at any given time. And it would end the detention of immigrant families, many of whom are currently held in privately-owned facilities in Texas and Pennsylvania.

Sanders Does Not Accept Money from the Private Prison Industry OR Use its Lobbyists to Raise Funds for him!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hillary Clinton:
I have found no strong statements from Clinton on the horrors of the Private Prison Industry until approximately two weeks ago.
It was revealed that her campaign was using Lobbyists for the Private Prison Industry to bundle donations for her campaign.
This report prompted a strong, negative reaction from advocacy groups, ColorofChange.org eg, and #BlackLivesMatter.
Demands were made that she cut ties with the Private Prison Industry and petitions signed by thousands of people eventually prompted her, on Oct 9th, to announce that she would be cutting ties with the Private Prison Industry.
She also called for ending this industry at this time:
Hillary Clinton Wants To End Private Prison Industry - Reportedly Stops Accepting Their Contributions
Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton reportedly announced in a meeting with the leaders of #BlackLivesMatter movement in Washington that she wants to “end private prisons” in America, according to ThinkProgress.com.
In a related note, Clinton has allegedly announced that she is no longer accepting campaign contributions from powerful private prison lobbyists, according to ColorOfChange.org.
The article notes that her remarks came just prior to hosting an African Americans for Hillary event at Clark Atlanta University
Think Progress reports that Clinton is acquiescing to some of the demands of the #BlackLivesMatter contingency regarding mass incarceration of people of color, most particularly young black men, fueled by the desire for profit and for the CCA and GEO to please their shareholders.
“She noted that she specifically wants to focus on ending funding to private prisons as the way to end them,” Deray McKesson said on Twitter. McKesson is an activist known for his large Twitter following and his involvement in the protests in Baltimore and Ferguson, Mo.
Zellie Imani, an activist and teacher, had a more pointed question about the money that private prisons have already allegedly given Clinton.
“We want to talk to her about private prison lobbyists who may have donated money to her campaign,” he said. “What is she going to do about that money? Is she going to return it? Is she going to make an acknowledgement of those funds being donated to her? How can you end private prisons and still take these donations?”
At this point, I was unable to find an answer to that question. Bundlers are essentially a part of campaigns. And since some of her bundlers ARE lobbyists for the Private Prison Industry, we have to assume that she has fired them, although to date, that is not clear.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Martin O'Malley:

O'Malley has been criticized for his 'tough on crime' stance while Gov of Md. However wrt to the Private Prison Industry he appeared to be surprised that this huge industry has been donating millions of dollars to Congress for years in this interview after he announced his bid for the White House:

O'Malley for President. For Profit Prison Money for Congress?

I discussed for-profit prisons with the newest presidential candidate and former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, after he didn’t address Hector’s question about what he will do to stop for-profit prisons from spending millions of dollars lobbying for public policy to profit from detaining more immigrants in detention centers.

Although he is opposed to for-profit prisons and responded that we need to act on the symbol of our country, the Statue of Liberty and not a barbed wire fence, I informed Gov. O’Malley to make the for-profit prison industry a priority considering the immigration reform he spoke hopeful of

In his recent proposals for Criminal Justice Reforms, O'Malley calls for the 'phasing out of' the Private Prison Industry:

Martin O'Malley Just Unveiled His Sweeping Criminal Justice Reform

While criminal justice reform has been a hot topic in the presidential race, some of the policies O'Malley emphasizes haven't yet received a great deal of attention. In particular, his call for phasing out for-profit prisons is noteworthy. The private prison industry is booming financially, the source of a great deal of lobbying for the practices that produce mass incarceration, and responsible for a huge percentage of the immigrant prison population. While for-profit prisons are particularly notorious in the minds of progressive criminal justice advocates, the issue hasn't received sustained criticism in the mainstream policy conversation for the past few months.

I found no evidence that O'Malley has ever received any funding either through Private Prison Lobbyist bundling for his campaign or in any other way.

I for one, am very happy to see the focus on this reprehensible 'Industry' which no Democracy should ever have sanctioned. For years Civil Rights and Prison Reform Activists have been exposing the horrors of this vile industry but to no avail.

So it is now a big issue in this campaign and while we cannot rely on what politicians SAY during campaigns, at least knowing their records on issues as important as this one, can help voters to make more informed choices when choosing who to vote for!

That is what people are attracted to. A Politician who is honest, authentic, ethical, doesn't mince words, doesn't worry if someone agrees with him or not, looks for where they can agree.

Not to mention his long, consistent record on all the Major Issues of the past several decades.

And NO ONE stands up to Republicans like Bernie Sanders.

When he reaches across the aisle, and he has, it is to GET SOMETHING from THEM for the PEOPLE.

Sanders Proving Hard to Challenge in NH. New Poll Shows him 5 Points Ahead of Hillary!

With all the effort poured into trying to catch Bernie in NH, with the Corp Media and establishment polls, supposedly claiming she won the debate while EVERYONE ELSE disagreed?

Hillary still cannot regain her Front Runner Status in NH!

Sanders Hard To Catch in New Hampshire

A new poll of likely Democratic voters released on Wednesday reaffirmed Sanders’ lead in the early-voting state of New Hampshire.

The Bloomberg/St Anselm poll showed Sanders with a five-point lead in New Hampshire. That very same poll, taken in February showed Hillary Clinton with a 41-point lead. But a lot has changed since them.

Sanders first pulled ahead of Clinton in August, when a Boston Herald/FPU poll put him ahead by seven points. Since then, he has been hard to catch. At one stage, Sanders polled 22 points ahead of Clinton, according to a CBS/YouGov poll.

The People V The Corporations/Wall St/The Mic

That's what this election is about.

It's simple.

Anyone TAKING Corporate Money facilitated by Citizens United goes under the heading:

Corporate Candidate!

Anyone REFUSING to accept Corporate Money goes under the heading:

People's Candidate!

I see only ONE Candidate matching his WORDS to his ACTIONS.

I am an actual PERSON, not a Corporation claiming PERSONHOOD!

So it's only natural that I am supporting the PEOPLE'S Candidate.

All the rest is NOISE!

GO BERNIE!

I Changed My Mind!

As someone who firmly believes that Primaries are an important part of the Democratic Process, it was disturbing to me that up to April/May of this year it looked like Democrats were not going to have any options regarding who would be the nominee for the 2016 Presidential Election.

It seemed there would be no challenges to the presumed nominee, Hillary Clinton

But then, we learned that Martin O'Malley had decided to enter the race!

I LIKED O'Malley and agreed with him on many more of the issues than I did Hillary Clinton

This was exciting, someone I felt would make a much better Democratic candidate and eventual nominee for the Dem Party.

Most of all I was happy that the Democratic Process was being preserved.

No candidate should ever be handed the nomination by the party without the voters having a chance to have their MOST IMPORTANT say in our elections.

I was happy, more motivated, I had reservations about this candidacy, but over all I liked O'Malley and was willing to try to help get him elected.

And then I heard what I had thought would NOT happen

Bernie Sanders HAD given a lot of thought to running in this race, and that he had decided he was going to do so!

?w=600

Knowing his long record on Progressive/Left issues, knowing his willingness to fight for those issues AND to GET THINGS DONE in Congress, there was really no other choice for me.

I didn't really think he had a chance at that point, but as he said no one should EVER underestimate Bernie Sanders!

I admit, I did but if you have a CONSCIENCE (I know, only spoiled rotten elitist, selfish people have consciences) which I am proud to say I do, you really have to support what is RIGHT for this country.

I was apparently far from alone and am absolutely stunned at how far Bernie has come from an almost complete unknown to actually beating Clinton in the polls and in the first Debate.

So, yes, I changed my mind!

And for those who are so concerned about people NOT voting for the Nominee, don't worry, WE will be doing so.

Let's hope everyone does!

Oops! The White House Just Called Hillary Out! Caught in a lie?

[link:http://www.westernjournalism.com/oops-the-white-house-just-called-hillary-out-and-now-shes-caught-in-a-lie/|]

During Tuesday’s Democratic primary debate, presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton spoke out against the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement that the Obama administration has put forward.

”I did say, when I was secretary of state, three years ago, that I hoped it would be the gold standard. It was just finally negotiated last week, and in looking at it, it didn’t meet my standards,” she said on the stage in Las Vegas. “My standards for more new, good jobs for Americans, for raising wages for Americans.”

Oops is right:

Those comments were called into question the next day by the same White House Clinton used to serve.

Apparently, they’re patently false. White House press secretary Josh Earnest said Wednesday that no one in the public has seen the agreement because it has not been yet made available for review.

At a White House news briefing, Earnest was asked point-blank by a reporter: “Is it possible that [Clinton]’s actually looked at it? because I thought it hasn’t been made public?”

Of course that is a problem in itself, that it has NOT been seen by the public. But that's another topic.

Meantime, Hillary appears to be remembering doing something which, according to the White House, never happened.

Seems to be some tension between Hillary and the White House.

Amazing Debate Analysis! This Kid is Incredible. Teaches Corp. Media Tools How It's Done!

&feature=youtu.be&a=

Some one should send this video to the bevy of talking heads on the Corporate Media as a primer to show them how to watch, listen and then analyze a Political Debate before uniformly and thoughtlessly declaring a winner.

His thoughtful and fair commentary on each candidate is well worth listening to.

To watch this after watching the usual Corp media garbage with everyone talking over each other and babbling talking points, was a breath of fresh air.

It gives me hope for the future of this country that there are people as young as this who are so aware and engaged in the political process.

It is 19 minutes you will not regret!

I wonder if he's even old enough to vote??

After Winning the First Debate Sanders Raises More Than Rand Paul did All Summer!

Yes, he won according to the People.

We should expect Corporate entities to say otherwise

Sanders Seeks to Convert Donor Ferver into Campaign Power

In the hours after Tuesday's Democratic debate, he raised upward of $2.5 million. That's more than Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul raised all summer for his Republican presidential bid.

The contrast in how Bernie spends the People's money and how Hillary spends her donations is stark!

All told, by the end of September, Clinton was paying 511 staffers, which cost her campaign about $8.5 million over the three months. Salaries in Sanders' campaign came in at about $1 million in that time.

While payroll was Clinton's greatest expense, for Sanders it was "campaign paraphernalia," FEC documents show. Most of that went to Tigereye Promotions LLC, which says online that it is "a union shop specializing in promotional products," such as T-shirts.

Sanders' no-frills approach to the race showed up in his spending report. His campaign paid for about $4,000 in room reservations through Airbnb, an Internet sharing service that's often cheaper than hotel stays, and he uniformly traveled on commercial airlines.

I love that his Campaign Paraphernalia is Union Made!

Bernie doesn't waste the People's money. And he puts his money where his mouth is, towards Union Workers.

Even as a Candidate he is putting Union Workers to work.
