I Posted This A Couple Of Times Before And I Think The Time Is Right Now - Lift The Cap......

It seems we have a relatively easy fix to Social Security and make it solvent for decades to come and that is "Lifting The Cap". I keep posting this thread because I believe a "LIft the Cap" campaign can be mounted that can be quite effective to get the American People behind this idea. I think that the Bernie Sanders Group on DU can be the catalyst for getting this off the ground. With Bernie vying for the Democratic Nomination - I believe that this would be very timely and it could further bolster Bernie's visibility and get him noticed by millions more of Americans.

Essentially the idea is to take (we all like to take selfies) and show pictures of people from all walks of life - lifting their caps off their heads and using social media to post these pictures like on Twitter and Facebook and the like - in support of lifting the current cap on Social Security Here's an example:

Think about how effective simple images like this can be - with some voice over about the current cap; how people making more money don't contribute; about fairness; and what lifting the cap would mean to the long term viability of Social Security.

A tv commercial - or a 'you tube' clip that can go viral - with pics of all sorts of people 'lifting' their caps'- would be a very poignant way of the American People voicing their support for 'lifting the cap' to solidify "Social Security".

Bernie keeps mentioning this almost everytime I hear him speak and I think it's time we help him out with a very simple and lllustrative campaign. It very vividly makes a statement.

I challenge fellow DU'ers here in the Bernie Sanders Group to post pics in this thread - of people lifting or raising their caps.

Come on folks - this is almost a no-brainer.

Here are a couple of other examples:

Do you get the idea? How about a #Liftthecap on Twitter. I'm not very familiar with Twitter - can somebody help out and get that started.

Two Words That Should Put Every American On Notice That We're Being Manipulated.......

"Presumptive Nominees"

Before this primary season and run-up to the Nov 2016 general election we were told that the "presumptive nominees" were:

Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton.

Though Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders look like they are throwing a monkey wrench into 'the powers that be' plans - it looks like the media, the talking heads and the pundits are telling us only what they want us to know and they are telling us how to think.

Why do we go through all the motions of primaries and debates if they know that they have a preordained outcome? Probably two reasons: 1. money - the media makes a lot of money off the candidates (I'm surprised that the big donors don't realized that they are being fleeced as well) and 2. to make us 99% feel like we have some say in the process.

I will be very disappointed that after we go through all these motions - that we wind up with a Bush vs Clinton election. If we do - all Americans need to realize that this whole time we were being "MANIPULATED". We were being "PLAYED".

I will do everything I can to change that outcome going forward. We all need to do as much as we can so that we can take our democracy back and not be handled into choosing one of their 'presumptive nominees' for 'president'.

That is my opinion and I'm curious if others feel the way I do.

Did I Hear Wrong Or Did Hillary Get The Benghazi Comments By McCarthy Confused With E-Mails?....

I think McCarthy was talking about the Benghazi Committee when he said their goal was to knock down Hillary's poll numbers and I think Hillary was addressing the issue of e-mails and used McCarthy's comments in her response.

Did I just zone out or did I hear that right?

Seems To Me That Property Insurance Companies Have The Most To Lose On Climate Change.....

Why wouldn't they be lobbying Congress to take actions to minimize the impact of climate change on the U.S.?

Did Donald Trump Have Any Comments On The Oregon Shooting?....

I don't think I've ever heard his platform on guns.

I Hold Congress - Our Elected Officials - Responsible For This Oregon Shooting.....

They have had multiple opportunities to take action and do something to stop these senseless mass shooting and they have been derelict of their duties. They have done nothing.

Call them accomplices or partners in crime. They have no shame. They don't do anything to try to prevent these shootings - but are the first to Tweet their condolences and how much they feel sorry for the victims and the victims families.

Congress has blood on their hands.
