Yup, everyone else understands the problem except the jokers on the phone call.

Sondland calling Trump on a cellphone from Kyiv is extraordinary for all sorts of reasons. Normally EU Ambos don’t call presidents. They never do so to discuss Ukraine policy. Doing so on a cellphone from Kyiv means whole world was listening in.

And a great reply:

Taylor was the first one on the inside to get a picture of what was going on

and to object. His texts re same may have played a big part in saving the country. This man is good people.

I love how his current statement is so passionate, really making the point of how Ukrainian lives have hung in the balance. Trump's games have gotten people killed, and he is making that plain.

I still can't figure out how they're getting away with the Trump store.

We have a 'president' hawking political t-shirts by tweet. WTFF?

Remember when Gaetz crashed the testimony the first time and refused to leave?

Schiff stopped the proceedings and began timing how long it took for him to absent himself, declaring that the same amount of time would be taken from the minority question period.

I think there are adult preparations being made to nip any antics in the bud. If the Republicans want to make themselves look like childish, obstructive morons, they'll pay twice: first looking and sounding foolish and irresponsible, and second when they receive reprimands and consequences.

More of the general citizenry than they realize, some of them Republicans, are taking this very seriously. The Beltway bubble and the heartland are two different beasts, regardless of how often they read their own press and believe it. Trying to sabotage the very government they are supposed to serve on behalf of those citizens, in addition to the severity of Trumps transgressions (which is going to be made clear in these hearings) could blow up in their faces.

Bigly.

Absolutely on point. When you have more money to begin with, of course you should pay

more in taxes. The point is, what percentage is being paid, and how does that percentage feel to someone who makes thousands and lives paycheck to paycheck as opposed to someone who has billions of self sustaining wealth?

Bill Gates is not too stupid to understand this, or even to have thought about it. He's being a whiny baby and it is a good thing to call him out for it. His little fee-fees will get over it.

Meanwhile, the professionals in the State Dept...

Professionals like Marie Yovanovitch and Bill Taylor had authentic credentials, earned their positions through ability and merit, and were quietly doing a good job for the nation. When called, they did the right thing to step up and testify about the irregularities going on. There is a glaring difference in quality there, no?

Giuliani considers launching an impeachment podcast amid public hearings (not the Onion)

Giuliani considers launching an impeachment podcast amid public hearings

Washington (CNN)Rudy Giuliani is considering re-entering the impeachment fray by launching a podcast to provide impeachment analysis of the public hearings in the House of Representatives scheduled for later this week.

Giuliani was overheard discussing the plans with an unidentified woman while at a crowded New York City restaurant, Sant Ambroeus, over lunch on Saturday. The conversation, which lasted more than an hour, touched on details including dates for recording and releasing the podcast, settling on a logo, and the process of uploading the podcast to iTunes and other podcast distributors. [snip]

"Many Americans want to hear directly from Rudy Giuliani," said Christianné Allen, a spokeswoman for Giuliani, who confirmed to CNN that he discussed the podcast idea at lunch on Saturday. "He is considering several options, in consultation with Jay Sekulow and the legal team, regarding the best way to move forward. As of now, they have not decided on the strategy but are getting very close."

In the conversation, Giuliani said he hoped to have four or five episodes "to analyze the impeachment in every aspect." Giuliani's intention seems to be to have four episodes finished before the start of the Senate trial. [snip]

During his conversation on Saturday, Giuliani talked about using the podcast as a way to tell his side of the story and counter-balance the first public televised testimony of the House's impeachment inquiry.

A person close to Trump's legal team suggested the podcast would be a smart counter-move as the hearings will dominate news coverage.

Oh, Rudy. Oh, Rudy's legal team. I'm just gonna leave this here...

Yep, it's treason.

I don't think we're just talking about election funny business any more, or even extortion and bribery.

The Rubicon has been crossed.

More public pantsing re bothsiderism is called for - bring media to account.

Media is not policing itself and needs the scolding. Jim Himes set the example; if only more would follow it.

Jaw. Drop.

The hubris is stunning. And don't miss the symbolism: USA is for sale! Everything must go!
