I don't have kids and can be as pissed as anyone else when some kid is acting up in the supermarket line. But, I have learned over the years that that mother, and occasionally father, is dealing with this kid 24/7 and will still be dealing with it long after I leave. My small inconvenience is meaningless and says more about me than about the family of the screamer. Often times some of us have sympathized with an embarrassed parent and tried to help calm the kid down.
I have no problem with bringing babies and small kids to most political events. Sure, it would be proper to get them out of there if they act up too much, but people are always talking about the family as the basis of our society, so what is so wrong about bringing the whole family?
OK, don't bring the kids to the opera, but this wasn't an opera.
This was a curmudgeon who thinks far too highly of himself. I watched the clip of Obama with the crying kid and was in awe. And Harris' connection to kids is just what we need in the White House again. It's not just kids-- that's just the most striking view of a humanity that's needed in politics today.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
