In reply to the discussion: I don't agree that Biden is the most electable Democrat [View all]gulliver
(13,198 posts)It was better than I have seen from any of the other candidates to date. He was witty and engaging stylistically. His knowledge of foreign policy and America's political history for the past several decades was brought to bear full force and was impressive. He handled the criticisms he has been receiving with grace and unity preserving style.
Sure, Biden's last debate wasn't all that great, but I remember Obama had what the media conclusion jumpers called a "lackluster" debate one time too. A whole lot of people around here panicked. It ended up being nothing. Biden's debate performance was actually pretty good. He just got ambushed by Kamala Harris's highly personalized ("that little girl was me" ) race-oriented attack. That gave the TV audience a "moment" but the substance of the attack later proved to be less than substantial.
If Biden does in the next debate what he did in the Cuomo interview, he's not only easily the most electable and the most Obama "sympatico" certified. He's the best candidate period. I like Warren's plans quite a bit, for example, but my feeling is that if we want Warren's plans to pan out as much as possible, we should nominate Biden.
I'm looking for someone who will be a great president and who will win. Biden's both.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
