His senility was happily hidden by the newly compliant news media. That administration really started the down hill slide for the USA. They started with PATCO, but the farmers of the Midwest were next in line. The number of small farms driven out of business was shocking and it was all done because of Reagan's farm policies. Driving through the middle of the US at the time was stomach turning, if you were paying attention.

W was really bad, but I give Reagan the most credit for reversing the New Deal. immoderate May 2014 #1
