It didn't help that when 70% of Americans wanted single payer healthcare but would have settled for the public option, neither were on the table in negotiations. When you want to meet someone in the middle and the middle is public option you start with single payer. My expectation after everyone lost their retirement and homes to the banksters was to see some perp walks not the fox protecting the chicken coupe. geithne r and summers knew where the bodies were buried and made sure they weren't found . Now we will be given a choice between Republican austerity and Democratic austerity. Like there are no other options. We can go the way of the German and the Nordic countries and fire the old bank mangers and hire new ones. It really pissed me off when Jamie dimon walked into Congress wearing cuff links with the presidential seal on them and told US how things were going to be done.
