I think it's some weird part of human nature to focus on the negative, while skimming over what is good and therefore noticing it less.
Here's an exercise I started doing in January here: When you see one of those threads.. the long ones.. where it seems everyone is piling up on you/your candidate.. actively seek out the responses that are positive in the thread. You'll probably be pleasantly surprised that they are actually there when you actively look for them.
Also take some comfort in knowing, that some of the "venom" is likely a person somewhere else who is also feeling disenfranchised and this venom is the result of those feelings.
Sometimes the hardest thing is taking yourself out of your own perspective, and trying to walk in the perspective of the opposition for a bit.
Imagine how it must feel when you really believe in the message of your candidate.
your candidate has devoted his life to politics, and been in congress for decades,
yet allll of the cards seem completely stacked against him.. the Senate that he's worked in won't endorse him, his fellow members of the House that he's worked in won't endorse him.
Day after day it seems more and more pile up against him with their endorsements.
Until recently the media all but ignored him.
In early January I had an epiphany and decided that I would be more positive. Instead of viciously attacking the opposing candidate and his supporters, I would focus on what's positive about mine. Sell mine without personal attacks and insults. Be more mindful of the hurt that those who support Sanders must be going through as well.
At the end of the day, we have two really good candidates for POTUS. The ones to feel sorry for are the Republicans. Those poor assholes should have had a fairly easy win this year after 8 years of a Democratic president in office, but blew it by fielding the most laughable clown car of jokers one could imagine.
