13. Yes, we have two large ones going on right now,

one near Fairbanks with mandatory evacuations and one down on the Kenai that has been burning since early June (lightning). There are 150 active wildfires in the state right now. It’s been so smoky, some days it looks like fog. We also just now had a brush fire here in town at the Far North Bicentennial Park that forced evacuations in that area, but they have it pretty well under control now. All the fireworks displays in Southcentral have been cancelled. (Of course, fireworks here in July are underwhelming. Save it for winter when you can see them.). The forecast for the coming week is for five straight 80+ days which is absolutely unprecedented. We used to be lucky if we got 5 or 10 70+ days in a whole summer. I don’t like this, but my gardens do, so I guess I can’t complain.

Average high temperature inJune is supposed to be 63 degrees.
