David Bowie predicted that Pink Floyd would go absolutely nowhere without him and lotsa people were really pissed of that they continued using the moniker at all. I recently read a book written from that perspective that actually referred to Syd-less Floyd as "the appallingly insipid Waters-Wright-Gilmour-Mason."

Ultimately Syd's own long shadow would prove to be as great or even greater a contribution to music than his actual body of work... Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here and The Wall all fall beneath that shadow to varying extents.
