In reply to the discussion: Sanders surrogate Tulsi Gabbard: 'I’m not prepared’ to back Clinton [View all]Palimpsestuous
(14 posts)Just because Bernie and Hillary voted the same way on 93% of the votes available to them in Congress, that is NOTHING resembling "agreeing with Hillary 93% of the time." Their disagreements are between a Progressive and a center right Republican. Why, do you suppose it's so nearly impossible for Bernie supporters to switch to Hillary? It's because, relative to Bernie, she is absolutely, without any doubt, a neoliberal neocon, i.e. a DINO acting like a Republican. Hillary Clinton is running against Trump because her husband and Obama pushed Republicans out of their place by acting just like them, except for issues of identity politics and climate change. Hillary doesn't even give a shit about climate change, leaving one category of issues with which she aligns as an actual Progressive.
It absolutely kills me how Hillary supporters actually use the same "talking points" just like Republicans do. If you can't see her as she is, I cannot help you. On the other hand, maybe you're fine with her Republican objectives, attitudes and tactics.
