What no one is talking about is that nothing is totally deleted. There are specific programs that allow one to re-engage whatever information that was deleted and bring it back fully. The truly only way to wipe clean an HDD is to degausse it which would be the total destruction of the HDD by magnetism and that would be noticed and brought to light.
