I've had many people and many closer to me than you try to make me feel that way and it hasn't worked so far (moms are great at guilt trips and even my mom didn't get any traction on that one).
That seems to be what you want and it isn't happening. I know it is a problem, I will acknowledge it and do what I can to end it (which isn't much) and beyond that I'll put it aside.
And yes there are ways for anyone to take a break from it if they want to do more than just complain.
