No to Tim Kaine [View all]

I want to like Tim. I used to live in Virginia and campaigned for Tim. I am supporting Clinton and hope she picks the best VP candidate she can.

Tim Kaine isn't that best choice.

Despite Clinton being opposed to the TPP, Kaine continues to support it.

Now, again, in opposition to Clinton's public policy positions on banking reform and regulation, Kaine has come out in in support of bank deregulation:

Kaine signed two letters on Monday urging federal regulators to go easy on banks ― one to help big banks dodge risk management rules, and another to help small banks avoid consumer protection standards.

This should not be acceptable and choosing someone who publicly opposes Clinton's stated policy positions should not be acceptable.

Not to mention that choosing such a person would be seen as an overt slight to former Sanders supporters as well as supporters of Elizabeth Warren.

In my opinion Tim Kaine has disqualified himself.
