Note the All Seeing Eye on the top of the pyramid at the lower right corner, another trigger. People enjoy feeling the emotional power from destruction, if they aren't on the receiving end of the equation. It does benefit a few, which makes them feel even more powerful and proud. Creation and destruction, are all the same to our gods.
