the head of the Port Authority Police Union is talking and he's not exactly following the Christie Cover-up Playbook! There's no way that this guy is going to jeopardize his career or his pension to save Christie or any of his cronies. There's too many people involved and at some point the dam is going to break and the effluent will all come spilling out! (b/t/w is that Big Pussy Bompensiero standing and watching over that handshake between Nunziato and Christie?)
Head of Port Authority Police Union Questioned in Bridge Inquiry
Federal prosecutors recently questioned the union president, Paul Nunziato, as part of their inquiry into whether any aspect of the September lane closings amounted to a crime, according to people with knowledge of the session.
The federal authorities have said nothing publicly about their efforts beyond confirming that the inquiry is underway, as is a parallel investigation by a state legislative committee looking into why the lanes were closed and who was responsible. Likewise, neither Mr. Wildstein, a central player in the scandal, nor Mr. Nunziato, a pragmatist who engineered his unions surprising endorsement of Mr. Christie last year, has spoken publicly about the matter since Jan. 8, when the committee released documents that took the scandal to the governors doorstep.
