(44,576 posts)As the owner of Wolff and Sampson, David Samson got the rent reduced on a park-and-ride from $900,000 to one dollar per year for a client -- and collected more than $1.5M in fees. As the chairman for the Port Authority (which happens to own the land the park-and-ride is on) Samson voted in favor of the rent reduction. The client? New Jersey Transit. But before you start screaming "Unethical!!!", you'll be happy to know that he's arranged for his vote to be "retroactively" withdrawn, as he had "intended" to recuse himself: http://www.northjersey.com/news/New_Port_Authority_conflict_issue_emerges_NJ_Transit_got_1_lease_while_a_client_of_David_Samsons_law_firm.html?page=all

P.S. No word on whether Mr. Samson is planning to retroactively withdraw the $1.5M in fees.
