(8,933 posts)It doesn't make anyone less or more being a stay at home or working parent. I think society tries to pit us against each other. When you are working you feel guilty that you are not home with the kids, when you stay home you feel guilty that you aren't contributing. Nothing could be further from the truth. As a stay at home mom I am here and when my friends or my sister need someone to watch or pick up their kids, they know I am here to help. Imagine what we could do if we banded together.... that's why some want there to be a war. Because as women no matter what we do we are either selfish or lazy or something that is negative. Instead of accepting our strengths and showing THAT to our kids and being happy with who we are and what we are doing. I believe that regardless whether we are working or staying home, that our mindset and being happy with who we are is the most exceptional thing we can do for ourselves and everyone around us.
