The genesis of the present division. [View all]
This country is deeply divided and it has been on this decline for almost 25 years.
One person, in my opinion, is more responsible than any other individual for this division.
He started out mocking people that were dumpster divers. The poor were ridiculed. Ted Kennedy and Chappaquiddick were fodder until Ted finally passed away.
He did not want to kill all the liberals. He wanted to leave one so colleges could study their demise. Liberals were the cause of everything evil in this world.
Of course, he has always been against women. Independent women were called "femi-nazis".
Through the Clinton years, we had assorted conspiracy theories about Vince Foster and Hillary Clinton. And the "Revvv-err-end" Jesse Jackson was always good for a laugh from this so-called "entertainer".
His divisive comments have controlled talk radio and the conservative agenda for almost 25 years. When Obama was running for President, he did not hesitate to come forth with his racist parody called "Puff, the Magic Negro".
His racist and misogynistic comments are too numerous to mention.
The Republican establishment loved him because he helped them to get into power and to stay in power with his political attacks upon the left and the liberals. He was very beneficial to them and they refused to call him on his divisiveness. It simmered and spread throughout the country. Finally, it has boiled over. It is time to heal ourselves of this division. We need to lance this boil and get it off the country's ass once and for all.
