Regardless of point of view, any statements about broad categories such as "rural" or any group for that matter is going to be about high-level tendencies and there will be numerous exceptions. I mean Caitlin Jenner is a right-winger, there are black republicans, and liberals in deeply red rural areas as well.
And intellectually, I'm fine with corrections and refinements.
I'm just annoyed as I'm still waiting for similar corrections about the rampant bigotry that's become completely overt and blatant thanks to Donnie. Who of course, is the biggest threat to our democracy and the furthest thing from rural...,

Anecdotally, from my southern, white, rural perspective, they (the book authors) are 100% correct about the rage.

I found it interesting, that many people who consider themselves rural aren't. I hadn't heard of the RUCA metric.

Here is a great tool that determines if an area is eleigible for specific grants and aid for rural populations

Rural America is about 20-30% Democratic. We don't want to isolate rural Democrats.
