But inaction is not an option. Parts of downtown and old town resemble some kind of post-apocalyptic hellscape, filled with drugged out and psychotic people, some of whom are violent. You can see dealers working the streets, selling openly, as there are no consequences. Assaults and killings are happening regularly. It sucks, and folks rightly avoid those areas. I hate it.

I grew up here, but I'm about ready to get out.
