tell our US military's chaplains, 41% of current scientists, 2.3 billion humans; tell it to all the past most famous architects, artists, musicians/choir singers, philosophers, or other creators of Western law and culture who just fell for that god consciousness hoax across continents for thousands of years; tell it to those whose creativity were, and continue to be, inspired by nothing but manmade crap over thousands of years.
Maybe our Christian presidents can explain the bases of their belief better than I can; still, I suppose I can take a stab at it. Because glib proclamations of "there is no god, man just made that shit up" doesn't work for this former atheist anymore. tl;dr
Patriarchy was established by force long before any god consciousness organized societies.
Patriarchy was founded on the now irrational predator/prey jungle ethic of "might makes right" -- in "Man's" (collective gender pronoun being used here for convenience) original image of himself as survivor.
Females had a different outlook on surviving -- "fight or flight" -- but to males, surviving meant females had to submit to male will or suffer and die. That "inner depravity," as John Calvin called it. Founders of strains of Christianity have always known that females have always had a hand in creating "civil" izing systems in spite of male survival ethics. ("Husbands love your wives" rules in the big hoax Bible)
To "civil" ize humans was to revalue human life. Projecting only the male view of human worth -- predator/prey, kill or be killed, fuck or be fucked, win-lose -- has been the downfall of systems that came before rational monotheistic belief systems. Which the Hebrews have been historically credited with fighting for and winning human hearts and minds with. The patriarchy-infected systems still lingered in Christianity, Law, and institutions that spun off from those core foundations. Now there's equality of life, rule of law, bar associations, professional institutions, civilian run militaries, separation of church and state.
It's just that the inner depravities of patriarchy still infect them. Which include calling divinities male only; which include spiritual, economic, social inequality through concepts like "headship" and "submission" in christianity and islam. I should have said that patriarchy is the bane of the planet. Believers are still the best of civilizing forces that create peaceful, just, verdant futures for humanity.
The patriarchy virus will be killed when both males and females kill it.
Moreover, the thing about ordering society in history "in man's image" has been tried all over the world; it's been cause of much suffering and cost to societies ordered for males only.
In the Western part of the world, those who originally set up societies by "commandments," "Law," "statutes," "judges," "testimony," "rules of evidence," "enforcement" "record keeping" "education," etc., -- they all who developed conscience and evolved just went through all that trouble for at least 4,000 years, across continents, who didn't know each other when they set those practices and principle to writing -- they were just making up where they got it from, right? Along with their peace and justice concepts, like humility, making amends to one another, kindness, love, forgiveness, sharing, charitable works to the stranger, orphans, science to alleviate suffering, patience, perseverance, justice?
Okay, then. Then let's move on to what, secular humanist laws? Where would they possibly be coming from? Is humanity going to make up all new stuff to create a new global, national, local order?
In all non-religious societies today, patriarchy's "might makes right"/"inner depravity" infection still lives on like a virus. Yes, females get infected by it, too. Nothing better than what the West has painstakingly created has been created by humans, no matter how many prehistoric societies we find buried.
The end of religion and all the culture and law it produced, still won't end the infection of patriarchy that existed before religion.
The only thing that immunizes humans from the patriarchy virus is democracy, equality and protection by rule of law, and the separation of church and state.
Those things are biblical, no-hoax concepts and the cure for the patriarchy virus.
But I do go on, and could go on, but more coffee's calling......
