This year has been disheartening. There are the polls where Trump is doing vastly better than anyone as crooked and subversive as him should be. There is the lifeline that SCOTUS has given him in not kicking him off the ballot, and allowing him to delay his Jan. 6 trial while they decide whether to re-imagine the president as a king.
But Tish James and E. Jean Carroll have put Trump in a bind we've never seen him in. I think we're finally seeing that last straw break the camel's back.
For wealthy donors and foreign adversaries, it's no longer possible to prop him up and support from the outside. He's now exposed and he's broke. Are there people who want to trade $454M to possibly own the next president? Maybe. But Trump is under so much scrutiny that it will have to be done overtly. Whether that is a deterrent for him, it will be for others.
Moreover it's an expensive gamble. He's a disorderly nut and even if he's bailed out, he might lose.
On the other side he inspires people by 'beating the system', and at this point he's obviously lost. He's going to owe the 454 M, and he's already lost 100M to E Jean Carrol. His bluff has been called, and there is no chance he gets away with this shit. He's no longer invincible. He's no longer a "winner". He's not a "business prodigy", he's a grifter and sex pest who has been caught. Unless he pulls off a great escape worthy of Houdini, we are going to see him getting his properties seized and liquidated in New York to cover his fraud debts. Which aren't dischargable in bankruptcy.
Let that sink in. He'll likely suffer the humiliating loss of large parts of his real estate empire before the election REGARDLESS of whether he is convicted of anything in criminal court. OR We'll have record of him getting half a Billion dollars from some foreign country like Saudi Arabia.
This dude has gotten away with more than I ever thought possible, but reality has to be setting in at this point. Are people who aren't in his cult really going to be excited about a guy who is begging to be bailed out Russia because banks won't cut him a bond and his buildings are being seized? I don't think so. I think we are going beyond the line where he becomes embarrassing, and people start to slowly back away.
