In reply to the discussion: Are You and Your Loved Ones Still Masking Up? [View all]herding cats
(19,569 posts)20. I do, but I know omicron 5 can still get us. Even masked.
My SIL was recently in the hospital for a non Covid matter. She masked, the doctors had multi layers of masks on (she felt insufficient seeing their game) and she caught Covid. She n95'd but caught Covid anyway. She's vaccinated but not boosted (foolish move) now she's autoimmune deficient (new) with Covid for over 3 weeks and they can't even treat her Covid issues due to her other health issues she's currently dealing with. Shes been in the hospital twice in the past month. Due to all of this mess.
Just a cautionary tale, if you have to go into an ER right now, layer the heck out of your masks if you're a vulnerable demographic.

You aren't aware that most experts believe it will never be fully eradicated?

Very rarely these days. Mainly when going to Dr's offices. Other than that, mask free here.
