8. My mom came over to visit me on Sunday.

We sat on my porch wearing masks and looked at old family photos. Some of the photos are well over 100 years old. Even the poor immigrants seemed happier than people are today. Family all around hugging and joyful in each other’s presence. I think we miss celebrating our simple humanity.
