(22,794 posts)the memory of everyone living at the time, just as the polio epidemic did in the 40s and 50s. It took a several generations for the memory to fade in society. Everyone alive today is going to remember this for the rest of their lives, and their children will hear the stories over and over. Don't forget, this isn't half over yet. Many will have negative effects for the rest of their lives. Adjustments in social interaction may linger for years - or return on an annual basis as the virus flares up much like the flu that kills thousands every year. Texas and Florida are experiencing dramatic flare-ups. No, my friend, this will not be soon forgotten.
