(9,522 posts)I highly recommend The Vaccine Book by Robert W. Sears, MD, FAAP. This comprehensive guide to vaccinations has a chapter for every childhood vaccination. Each chapter defines the disease, tells how common it is, when the vaccine is given, how it is made, what ingredients are in the final vaccine solution, are any of the ingredients controversial, combination vaccines that contain the vaccine, what the side effects of the vaccine is, reasons to get the vaccine, reasons some people choose not to get the vaccine, options to consider when getting the vaccine, and finally the author's opinion of the necessity of the vaccine.
It is a very informative, easy to read and understand book written by a doctor who is not anti vaccine but who also doesn't not necessarily think every child should automatically be given every vaccine.
