"I'm looking around DU confused about why so many Liberal white people are comfortable with excusing away racism. I don't care who did it, there needs to be a standard. As a black woman, my heart hurts and my stomach is flipping. I doubt many people know what that feels like. My sister, who lives in Virginia, is devastated that she voted for someone who would do that. I hope he resigns and stops stretching this out. It's a painful reminder, at the beginning of the month that should celebrate African Americans, that we will still have a very long way to go."
