We are pulled to the right. We are manipulated like fools. [View all]

The effect of the Ryan pick is that, after an entire election season of hearing the horrors that Ryan's budget will inflict on ordinary Americans, the public will welcome the bipartisan Grand Bargain catfood commission plan to cut Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. We will welcome it with tears and hugs as the humane and generous choice.

We are being played like suckers. The one percent have finally figured out how to get Americans to welcome the dismantling of our social safety nets.

This is the big nut, folks. For decades, the existence of the social safety nets, and the public's expectation that they will always be there, has been the single greatest obstacle the one percent has faced in truly looting this country.

They have finally figured out a way to do it.
