I honestly think that the fixation on all things Trump by so many of us even on the left side is a big part of why we are what we are. I dont know how many times I had to turn off Steph Miller and Alan Colmes (RIP) because their trump clips just went on and on and on and on, at the expense of airtime given to OUR candidate (HRC).
I knew we were doomed one day in August when I turned on prog. radio hoping to hear what our candidate (HRC) had to say at an important debate before some military which had takenp lace the day before. I heard hardly a peep out of HRC, but the trump clips were endless. Yeah its in the context of them laughing at him, but its still media attention and trump sucking oxygen out of the room... at the expense of us being able to hear anything from the other candidate.
When HRC got any attention at all - eg after the convention, during/after the debates - her poll nos. skyrocketed - then crashed again a few wks later when media went back to All Trump, All the Time.
Trump personally may be an idiot acting mostly on personal grudges and petty hatreds, but make no mistake, the whole operation was, and is more than Trump and is in fact a pretty sophisticated media manipulation/ disinformation campaign. His helpers (ussr) have been perfecting the techiques for many decades and in many different countries besides their own.
