and he knows I'm a former Broadcast TV journalist that if the victims in Maryland had had some guns ... you know the rest of the sentence.

I told him the cops got there in 2 minutes. Didn't matter to him. Could have helped to stop the guy shooting if the victim that was trying to open the blocked door had had a gun.

BS I say. Where was the gun the victim was supposed to have? In his desk? In a holster? 2 minutes. Who can figure out what's going on in that amount of time? Let's say there were 5 reporters with guns. One shoots. Then the others think he's the bad guy. OK Corral.

Mass shooters get by with the amount of damage because the have these things on their side.
1) The element of surprise.
2) Disregard in most cases for personal safety.
3 Weapons easily obtained with devastating military power. Rounds that can punch a whole in a Kevlar vest worn by any officer approaching the scene. Rounds if they hit you will not just go through but expand to damage vital organs like your lungs, liver, pancreas, intestines, etc. You will never be the same again.

The only answer to this is what Australia, England, Japan...etc. have done. Get rid of the bloody guns.
