1. Rudy is trying to make himself indispensable to Trump with all this media confusion.
2. IF there were an impeachment, it would take more than a few weeks. It could extend into 2020, re-election year for Trump.
3. Trump changes his running mate from Pence to Rudy and attempts to market Rudy in his old role of "American's Mayor".
4. And Trump either resigns or waits for his fate. If he is re-elected, Rudy's in. (I kind of thought this was Chris Christie's MO for endorsing Trump in 2016. All he needed was to show up and to be patient.)
