I don't suggest that there aren't other Democrats with effective left hooks, but these are the people who consistently inspire me to press forward in these days of unabashed treason from every corner of the Republican Party. Obviously I support the wealth of Democrats who believe in our Democratic ideals, but the idealistic pacifists have had a chance and now I'm only putting my time and money on the fighters.
Trump gives encouraging words to new Chief of Staff Mulvaney
During negotiations with House leadership, Trump reportedly gave encouraging words to his new Chief of Staff, Mick Mulvaney, stating "You just fucked it all up, Mick!"

Hate-filled racists are outraged to hear that Muslims can eat Toblerone chocolate bars.

Halal is an Arabic word that denotes that a food or service is permissible according to Islamic law. It excludes foods containing pork or alcohol, and requires that animals are slaughtered by a Muslim by a cut to the throat, without being stunned.
Toblerone has not changed its recipe, but some online commentators have taken badly the news that its factory in Bern, Switzerland, achieved a halal certification in April -- with the federal spokesman of Germany's nationalist AfD party claiming it showed the "Islamization" of Europe."

Trump gives troops a thumb in the eye from afar.
I can only imagine how troops on the ground must feel after hearing such comments from their Commander and Chief. A recent Washington Post article reveals that:
"Although he signed off on Defense Secretary Jim Mattis’s requests to bolster the American military presence in Afghanistan and Syria and retain the footprint in Iraq, Trump isn’t a fan of U.S. military operations there.
In meetings about a potential visit, he has described the missions in Iraq and Afghanistan as “a total shame,” according to the advisers."

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was hospitalized early Thursday morning after fracturing three ribs during a fall in her office Wednesday night, the court said.
Ginsburg, 85, was admitted to George Washington University Hospital early this morning for observation and treatment.
A statement from the court said that Ginsburg returned home Wednesday night but went to the hospital early Thursday after “experiencing discomfort overnight.” She called court police to take her there before dawn.

Actually, I get an email notice telling me my ballot has been mailed to me. Then, after I complete my ballot and return it to the election office, I get a second email notice telling me it has been received (but not yet verified); THEN I get a third and final notice (above) telling me my ballot has been accepted.

Kavanaugh's lie is no longer a minor thing.
A 17 year old who is drinking beer illegally knows he’s drinking beer illegally. He didn’t mistaking my think he was 18 and thus able to drink legally. Then, BEFORE he turned 18 the legal drinking age was RAISED to 21.
Kavanaugh wasn’t mistaken when he said he was legally drinking at 18 because he was NEVER able to drink legally during the period at issue.
If he is incapable of telling the truth now about an otherwise minor wrong as a minor, why would anyone expect him to be honest about a sexual assault?

You might guess from my signature line that I'm on the cynical side of the table, so my presumption is that Republicans will confirm Kavanaugh regardless of what comes out of the hearing.
I was too angry to listen to all of the hearing, but I'm curious as to whether anyone asked Kavanaugh about his perjury?

If the discussion becomes solely about the attempted rape allegation, the issue for confirmation, as with Clarence Thomas, could boil down to whether there is irrefutable proof of his guilt or innocence - a damned near impossible hurdle. The issue of Kavanaugh's PERJURY should not now be given short shrift when the reality is that his perjury alone should disqualify him from ANY court.
