WiseElder's JournalTrump turns angry and despondent as possible defeat looms

WASHINGTON - By Thursday morning, President Donald Trump was angry and defiant.
The polls had closed more than a full 24 hours before, and as several key states continued to update their ballot counts, the election increasingly felt like it was slipping away from him and toward Democratic nominee Joe Biden. He wanted to speak.
"STOP THE COUNT," Trump bellowed on Twitter, a missive he quickly retweeted just over an hour later. "ANY VOTE THAT CAME IN AFTER ELECTION DAY WILL NOT BE COUNTED!" he added.
The only problem: If the vote-counting stopped at that moment, Trump would lose.
Trump's senior advisers intervened, explaining to the president that he needed to be more precise about just which vote counts he wanted halted. He did not want all of the states to stop counting votes, they added, because that would lead to a Biden victory.
And so, shortly after noon Thursday, Trump blasted out the message he had workshopped with advisers: "STOP THE FRAUD!"
There is no evidence of widespread voting fraud, and Twitter flagged his tweet as "misleading" about the election. But for the president's purposes, the missive was more helpful to his electoral hopes.
"Trumpworld is going to go down slinging hard," said Dan Eberhart, a Republican donor.
Those in the president's orbit had entered Election Day cautiously optimistic. During a midday visit Tuesday to rally staff at campaign headquarters, the president said he had not yet given much consideration to either a victory or concession speech.

Taking bets that Barr will be getting Covid
He was posting negatives every day then stopped posting.....
Time to pull the plug. He's been brain dead long enough.
Do the dems have the cojones to ?????
Once Biden is president and the dems have the Senate I am praying they will have the cojones to abolish the 60 vote rule AND increase the number of Justices on the Supreme Court to 13. I do believe we need more as I hate the idea that one Justice has the power to swing the decisions so easily.
The People v. Donald J. Trump
The criminal case against him is already in the works and it could go to trial sooner than you think.

Trump Holds Mini-Rally in His New 'Home State' of Florida and Almost No One Showed Up
Source: Political Flare
Trump landed in Tampa, where he is participating in a fundraiser, and was greeted by dozens of supporters who had gathered along barricades. Few were seen wearing masks, and music that has become standard at Trump campaign events blared over speakers for what was billed as a campaign coalitions event with Florida sheriffs.
And take a look at the crowd, pretty pathetic if you ask me:

Mitt Romney slams the United States' coronavirus testing record as 'nothing to celebrate whatsoever'
Source: Business Insider
Sen. Mitt Romney, a Utah Republican, forcefully criticized the Trump administration's response to the coronavirus during a Tuesday Senate hearing and accused a Health and Human Services official of misleading the public about the US's record with testing for the virus.
Romney pointed to Admiral Brett Girior's statement which reflects those made by President Donald Trump that the US has tested double the number of people that South Korea has. But the assertion that the US's testing abilities are more robust than South Korea's makes no sense, given that the Asian nation has a far smaller population, ramped up testing far earlier than the US did, and has had a much more controlled outbreak.
"I understand the politicians are going to frame data in a way that's most positive politically. Of course, I don't expect that from admirals," Romney told Giroir. "But yesterday, you celebrated that we had done more tests and more tests per capita even in South Korea."
Romney went on to point out that American population is six times larger than South Korea's, but the US has had about 300 times the number of coronavirus deaths as the Asian country.

GOP Ohio state lawmaker refuses to wear face mask because faces are the 'likeness of God'
Source: The Hill
A Republican Ohio state representative cited his religious beliefs to explain why he would not wear a mask as recommended by Gov. Mike DeWine (R) to help limit the spread of the novel coronavirus.
This is not the entire world, state Rep. Nino Vitale wrote in a lengthy Facebook post on Monday morning. This is the greatest nation on earth founded on Judeo-Christian Principles.
One of those principles is that we are all created in the image and likeness of God. That image is seen the most by our face. I will not wear a mask, he continued.

Zhang Xinmin, an official at Chinas science and technology ministry, said favipiravir, developed by a subsidiary of Fujifilm, had produced encouraging outcomes in clinical trials in Wuhan and Shenzhen involving 340 patients.
It has a high degree of safety and is clearly effective in treatment, Zhang told reporters on Tuesday.
