bearsfootball516's JournalThank you, DU, for being my blue oasis in the sea of red I live in.
Just 48 hours remain in the Trump presidency. I discovered DU shortly after his term began and joined shortly after I lurked for a couple months. I was looking for a place where I could talk about Democratic ideals, something I desperately needed considering I live in a deeply red county in Indiana.
Since then, I spend no less than a couple hours a day surfing DU, it gave me the confidence to join my local Democratic party and work to help flip the mayoral seat blue in 2018 (which we did!!).
I don't post a ton, and I'm far from the most relevant posters here. But regardless, as Trump's term comes to an end, I just wanted to say thank you to DU and all it's posters for keeping me sane over the last 4 years.

Random question, but what was Trump's October surprise supposed to be?
The Hunter Biden laptop stuff? Because if it was, it was the least-effective October surprise weve ever seen.
There are now less than 100 hours left of the Trump Presidency
Just 99 hours until noon on Jan 20th!
Happy Saturday, everyone!

Im spending the entire time hammering one thing, over and over and over again.
Trump KNEW he had COVID, and he still went out, hid it and put hundreds of lives at risk. Then he put his own secret service agents lives at risk with his little joyride publicity stunt.
Cook Political Report changes Arizona from Tossup to LEAN DEM
"There are two key geographic battlegrounds for the Electoral College this year. One is the Midwest that until 2016, had been reliably Democratic. The other is the fast-growing Sun Belt section of the country that has traditionally voted Republican.
To help understand how voters in these regions are thinking about this election and the issues shaping it, the Kaiser Family Foundation and Cook Political Report have collaborated on two surveys. In November 2019, we released the Blue Wall Voices Project, a survey of 3,222 voters in the Upper Midwest (Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Michigan).
This week, we are releasing the most recent poll that featured 3,479 interviews with voters in Arizona, Florida, and North Carolina."
